Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I buy the books?
Please see the stockists page here for the shops that sell the books in your local country. If you need to order from overseas, Book Depository offers free worldwide shipping. I currently don’t sell the printed books directly through the website.
Do you have E-Books?
Yes, each book is also available in the digital version as an E-book. The E-Books can be bought directly on the website here.
How often are the books updated?
I try and keep the books updated and refreshed as much as possible, so before each reprint I’ll go through the book to make sure the content is up to date and make changes where necessary. I usually reprint the books every year. When there is a new edition, this is publicised and around 50% (or more) of the book content will be new.
Do you visit every place in the books?
Yes of course! Each place in the book has been handpicked by me because it’s genuinely worth a visit and I think you need to know about it. I’ll often visit places on numerous occasions before deciding what to include. There are a lot of places that I’ve been to that don’t make it into the books.
Who takes all the photos for your books?
I take 95% of the photos that feature in the books. As I’m visiting each place, it makes sense that I also take photos while I’m there. I generally have an aversion to any sort of stock photography so I prefer to take my own. The books look more cohesive and consistent that way too. I like to work with a local photographer for the front cover, and there is additional photography for the contributor and interview sections.
Can I order the books in bulk?
Yes, if you are a bookstore or shop and would like to order the books, please visit the wholesale page here for more information. The books have local distribution in the UK, USA, Australia and Singapore. If you would like to order the books in bulk for your company or event then please email hello@thelostguides.com.
What book are you working on next?
I’m currently working on a guided travel journal, an interactive and playful product for creative and adventurous souls who enjoy crafting, journaling, and documenting their travel experiences (both in their own country and overseas). Sign up here to be the first to know about the release
